I love the clear examples and numerous exercises that guide the reader through the process of peeling away the layers of trauma, fear, shame and mistrust to find the child within and to bring joy back into our lives. When we understand that our childhood shaped our behavior in negative ways, we can discover our shadow child has developed self-protective strategies that do not serve our best self. But it is never too late to re-discover our sunny, authentic self. I will recommend this book to others.
